END OF YEAR PERFORMANCE
Mid December. Exact dates will be confirmed in January.
The end of year performance is a wonderful opportunity for M3 students to showcase their talents to family and friends, and to end the year on an incredibly high note. The performance takes place in a professional theatre and is a professionally run show, with a large variety of exciting music and fabulous costumes. Students perform one routine per class they attend. The performance is not compulsory, however participation is greatly encouraged. In 2012 M3 will be performing two shows. Recreational students will perform in only one show.
Costumes for the show are hired out to students by M3 Dancehouse and a single hire fee per costume will be added to Term 4 invoices.
During Term 4, students are required to attend a small number of extra rehearsals at the studio to prepare for the show. These rehearsals give the students a chance to get to know each other, practice in front of an audience and become confident in their role or dance. There is also a full dress rehearsal held at the theatre a few days prior to the performance. This rehearsal is 100% compulsory for all performers participating in the show. Please note: the Dress Rehearsal will be held during school/business hours. Students who are unable to attend the dress rehearsal will not be able to participate in the performance. No exceptions.
All information regarding the 2012 end of year performance will available on this website at the beginning of Term 4.

BALLET EXAMS
Term 2 & Term 3. Exact dates to be confirmed.
At M3, we view external examinations as a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their skills, receive positive feedback and gain lots of encouragement. Students begin Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD) Classical Ballet exams at the age of six and can continue through to major levels in their teenage years. Each child receives an official ATOD Examination Certificate with a detailed constructive critique, as well as a level-appropriate medal. Exams take place during business/school hours on a weekday.
All ballet classes (except for 'Open' and Performance Group classes) are run as exam classes using the appropriate level syllabus. It is not compulsory for students who attend exam classes to participate in the actual exam, however it is greatly encouraged. From 'Bronze Medal' level up, students must be attending at least two ballet classes per week in order to participate in the exam.
